Job Title: Senior Ward Officer

The Brisbane City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ward Officer to join our team. As a Senior Ward Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Ward Office in achieving great outcomes for our community and residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Ward Office team
  • Lead the delivery of effective administration and customer service, managing the Ward Office workload and achieving Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community groups, sports clubs, and local residents
  • Research and interpret legislation, policy, and guidelines to support the councillor in resolving community queries
  • Assist with digital content design and editing, and manage social media accounts
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated front-facing customer service experience with a strong focus on resolving complex customer queries
  • Ability to maintain oversight across work in progress, including the ability to quickly review, understand, and brief stakeholders on complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience in leading an office-based operation, providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support
  • Demonstrated experience in researching and interpreting legislation, policy, and guidelines
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers
