About the Role

The Brisbane City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ward Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Ward Office, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality administration and customer service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, community groups, and stakeholders, resolving complex queries and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
  • Lead the Ward Office team in the delivery of effective administration and customer service, managing workload and achieving key performance markers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community groups, sports clubs, and local residents, promoting the Council's services and initiatives.
  • Manage the Ward Office workload, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion of projects and tasks.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Councillor, including diary management, document preparation, and meeting coordination.
  • Research and interpret legislation, policy, and guidelines to support the Councillor in resolving community queries.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with the community, promote Council services, and build relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles, with a strong focus on resolving complex queries and providing exceptional service.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with community groups, stakeholders, and Council officers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
