Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality administrative and customer service support to residents, community groups, and Council officers.
  • Lead the Ward Officer in the delivery of effective administration and customer service, managing the Ward Office workload and achieving key performance markers.
  • Represent Brisbane City Council and the Pullenvale Ward Office at local events and connect with residents who visit the Ward Office.
  • Utilize strong computer skills and experience with content writing for digital channels to support the Councillor in resolving community queries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, schools, and sports clubs to create opportunities and solve challenges that the Ward Office can assist with.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated customer service experience with a strong focus on resolving complex customer queries, ensuring honesty, fairness, sensitivity, and dignity in all interactions.
  • Proven experience in leading an office-based operation, providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support, and managing in-progress requests in the Customer Database system.
  • Ability to research and interpret legislation, policy, and guidelines to support the Councillor in resolving community queries.
  • Excellent organization skills, including diary management, organizing documents, and preparing resources for meetings.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers through various channels.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment to an agreed performance standard and contribute to a culture of excellence.
