About the Role

Brisbane City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ward Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Ward Office, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and administrative support to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Ward Office team, including diary management and document preparation.
  • Lead the Ward Office in delivering effective customer service, resolving complex customer queries, and ensuring honesty, fairness, and dignity in all interactions.
  • Research and interpret legislation, policy, and guidelines to support the councillor in resolving community queries.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community groups, schools, and sports clubs to promote Council services and initiatives.
  • Write reports, correspondence, and information decks, handling sensitive information in line with Council policy.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated customer service experience with a strong focus on resolving complex customer queries.
  • Proven experience in leading an office-based operation, providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, contributing to a culture of excellence.
