Job Title: Senior Project Officer - Applied Scientist

We are seeking an experienced applied scientist to contribute to the Australian Fire Danger Rating System. As a Senior Project Officer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary research team to develop and implement indices that assist fire managers understand the risk of bush fires, the capacity of firefighting resources, and possible impacts of bush fires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement indices to assist fire managers in understanding bush fire risk
  • Contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that protect communities, infrastructure, and the environment from bush fire impacts
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary research team to achieve project goals

Requirements:

  • Experience in applied science and research
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
