The role involves maintaining current business while actively seeking new opportunities. Effective territory management is essential, which includes meticulous planning, organization, and administration, along with precise expense forecasting and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically engage with Cardinal Health's product portfolios to plan and execute sales initiatives aimed at achieving or surpassing sales objectives while upholding a professional image in the industry.
  • Educate distributors and healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure the proper application of Cardinal Health products in accordance with the Instructions For Use.
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with key decision-makers and non-clinical stakeholders, including but not limited to Procurement, Sustainability, and Risk Management.
  • Collect and disseminate market intelligence regarding products, pricing, promotions, and discounts through observation, discussions, or research.
  • Strive to comprehend customer requirements and deliver mutually advantageous solutions for both the client and the organization.
  • Address customer inquiries promptly and professionally, consistently representing the Cardinal brand in alignment with expected values and behaviors, including occasional after-hours work as necessary.
  • Achieve and maintain a high level of product and technical knowledge regarding Cardinal Health offerings through company-sponsored training and self-directed learning, as expected of a top-performing sales professional.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of competitive products, their features, and advantages, and confidently promote Cardinal products' competitive strengths.
  • Actively pursue the development and enhancement of territory management and sales skills.
  • Ensure that customer interactions, activities, opportunities, risks, and business maintenance are accurately updated in the designated CRM system within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain accurate pricing information in the CRM system to ensure customers receive the correct pricing consistently.
  • Provide sales forecasts to marketing for new business opportunities utilizing established company processes.
  • Participate in third-party and company-sponsored meetings as required, which may include occasional after-hours attendance.
  • Deliver sales reports and other necessary information to the Manager, Strategic Accounts, in the required format.
  • Collaborate individually and as part of a broader team to cultivate strong relationships with key opinion leaders and execute marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all personnel across various levels and functions within the organization.
  • All activities must comply with the local Quality System.
  • Perform duties in accordance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Relevant undergraduate degree along with additional industry certifications.
  • Minimum: Technical/Clinical or nursing diploma.
  • Entry-level experience: 3+ years in sales, preferably within a healthcare context.
  • Demonstrated success in professional sales, ideally in the medical device sector.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Commercial sales skills, including strategic and territory planning, negotiation, and solution selling.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of public and private hospital markets.
  • Preferably possess a Nursing/Clinical background with experience in hospital or allied health settings.
  • Exhibit behaviors consistent with Cardinal Health values.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including a solid understanding of the MS Office suite or similar CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of the relevant healthcare system.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to travel: 10-30%.
