Job Title: Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 in the Emergency Department and Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre at Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick.

About the Role:

This is a temporary full-time position until February 2025. As a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department with acute mental health symptoms, co-morbid physical and mental health difficulties, and in acute crisis situations requiring a mental health assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage patients with acute mental health symptoms
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in an emergency department or acute mental health area
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
