About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 3 (CNC3) is a key position within the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) that provides expert clinical organization, coordination, leadership, and consultancy services in the area of Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD).

Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, the CNC3 provides a complex and expansive clinical consultancy service in AOD across the district, ensuring improved practice and systemic change in AOD services.

The CNC3 is responsible for reviewing practice standards, policies, and procedures that relate to specialty and expert knowledge, working to improve outcomes for people who have issues relating to substance use through the provision of evidence-based AOD services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and active engagement with clinicians to enable improved practice and systemic change in AOD services.
  • Review practice standards, policies, and procedures that relate to specialty and expert knowledge.
  • Work to improve outcomes for people who have issues relating to substance use through the provision of evidence-based AOD services.
