About Yakimono: A vibrant tribute to the artful side of Japanese cuisine, we bring a creative and dynamic dining experience to the heart of Melbourne.
Our colourful and high-energy restaurant joined the LUCAS family in 2021, nestled within the 80 Collins precinct, adjacent to the two Hat Society Restaurant.
About LUCAS Restaurants: As a leader in Australian fine dining, our group encompasses some of the country's most beloved and acclaimed restaurants, including Chin Chin Melbourne and Sydney, Go Go Bar, Kisumé, Hawker Hall, Baby Pizza, Yakimono, Society, and Grill Americano. We recently opened Tombo Den, further solidifying our presence in the industry.
Australian in approach and unencumbered by traditional dining norms, we create unique venues and experiences that foster connection and community.
About the Opportunity:
We seek an exceptional Chef to join our team at Yakimono. You will be a driven and passionate culinary professional with a genuine enthusiasm for cooking.
This is an outstanding opportunity to embark on your culinary journey and learn from the best in the industry. You will be a highly energetic and dedicated hospitality expert.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have:
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen
- Japanese cuisine expertise advantageous
- Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information
- Good communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Correct techniques and adherence to procedures when preparing and cooking menu items
- Foundation knife skills and understanding of basic cookery terms and techniques
- Calm and composed demeanour
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
