About the Role

This position provides procurement expertise and assists stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives in a timely manner according with Council's purchasing policies. This role is responsible for contract management administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of all Request for Tender (RFT) and Request for Quotation (RFQ)
  • Assist validating stakeholder business needs, compile and source market information, and assist in analysing markets and assessing risk to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions.
  • Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established council policies and procedures to meet business needs and participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes.
  • Regularly update the centralised contracts management database with stakeholders across the organisation, to minimise Council exposure, with the timely and appropriate renewal of contracts and ensure value for money is delivered.
  • Influence key stakeholders through positive relationships to build and promote good procurement and contract practices while becoming familiar with the operations, systems, processes and policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in government, not-for-profit, education, or mid to large-scale organisations in a similar role
  • Tech-savvy with strong systems experience
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritising workloads, formulating Tender/Procurement programs, assessing contract performance, interpreting technical information, and analysing data
  • Display flexibility, critical questioning, and follow-through on issues
