Procurement and Contracts Specialist

About the Role:

Public Sector People is partnering with a local government organisation to find a skilled Procurement and Contracts Specialist. This 12-15 month contract role requires working 3 days per week.

Job Description:

The primary objective of this position is to provide high-level support to the centre-led procurement function of Council. The specialist will be responsible for coordinating supply chain and procurement systems, including data input, maintenance, verification, and reporting.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Availability to work Monday to Wednesday and flexibility when required
  • Experience in procurement within Local Government
  • Class C Driver's Licence
  • Demonstrated understanding of Local Government procurement legislation and policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge in public tendering and contract development
  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy
  • Demonstrated analytical, planning, and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Qualification in procurement or administration
  • Vendor Panel system coordination/management
  • TechnologyOne / OneCouncil system coordination/management
