Strategic Procurement and Contract Management Specialist

About the Role
The Public Sector People are seeking a Strategic Procurement and Contract Management Specialist to provide high-level management support to their centre-led procurement function.
This position will be responsible for coordinating supply chain and procurement systems, including data input, maintenance of data, and verification and reporting of data output.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Coordination: Manage and maintain procurement systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with suppliers, promoting collaborative partnerships.
- Contract Management: Oversee contract development, negotiation, and administration.
- Procurement Business Partner Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement-related matters.
- Procurement Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Class C Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated understanding of Local Government procurement legislation and policies
- Demonstrated knowledge in public tendering and contract development
- Demonstrated high level of computer literacy
- Demonstrated analytical, planning, and organisational skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Qualification in procurement or administration
- Vendor Panel system coordination/management
- TechnologyOne / OneCouncil system coordination/management
Work Arrangements
This is a 12-15 month fixed-term contract, working 3 days per week (with some additional hours as required). You will be remunerated at a rate of $60-$70 per hour, plus superannuation.
