Position Overview
Are you an enthusiastic and detail-focused individual with a commitment to exceptional customer service? We are looking for a part-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to become a vital part of our dedicated team. This role involves managing key daily accounts receivable functions, including cash allocation, addressing customer inquiries, and performing various administrative tasks.
Key Duties Include:
- Address customer inquiries regarding accounts, including invoices, account statements, and credit notes.
- Reconcile accounts, identify outstanding invoices and duplicate payments, and take necessary actions for prompt resolution.
- Process customer refunds and credit notes efficiently.
- Encourage and facilitate direct debit payment methods during customer interactions.
- Conduct collection calls for accounts overdue by more than 60 days and negotiate with customers experiencing financial difficulties.
- Communicate with customers regarding declined direct debit payments, arrange for timely payment, and evaluate circumstances to prevent future occurrences.
- Assist the Banking and Collections Supervisor with additional responsibilities as required.
This part-time position (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) offers the flexibility to work from home for two days each week. To excel in this role, you should be self-driven and comfortable working autonomously.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong accounts receivable experience, ideally within the aged care or financial hardship sectors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Empathy and strong active listening skills.
- A positive mindset, resilience, and a willingness to learn.
- The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in collections, handling complaints, or managing aged debt exceeding 90 days.
- A passion for community service and a strong customer service orientation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management.
