A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an Accounts Officer to join the WEM Civil team. Based in Bella Vista and reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager / Finance Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining the overall Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, as well as maintaining business revenue through monthly progress claims, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

**In this position, you’ll**:
Account Payable:

- Process supplier, subcontractor, and labour hire invoices, including input and coding to projects and cost centres.
- Conduct rate checking against Pricebook and labour hire arrangements, liaising with the Procurement department as needed.
- Manage the setup of new subcontractor and supplier accounts in internal databases.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain subcontractor retention balances, including reconciliation and payment release of retention.
- Verify and process employee expense claims.
- Liaising with suppliers and customers to resolve invoice disputes or enquiries.
- Month end accounting process including accruals listing and supporting documentation for journals.
- Support the Accounts Payable Manager in identifying and implementing improvements in the functional process.

Account Receivable:

- Process and issuing of progress claims / tax invoices from Salesforce to customers.
- Reconcile customers payments received against progress claims issued.
- Provide monthly forecasts for receipt of customer payments.
- Maintain the Debtors Listing, including following up and collection of overdue accounts.
- Liaise with superintendents to receive progress claim certification.
- Support the Finance Manager in identifying and implementing improvements in the functional process.
- Create and distribute ad hoc reports as needed.

**We are looking for someone who has**:

- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting including Accounts Payable and Receivable principles. Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting are desirable.
- Experience with Salesforce, Pronto and Tableau are not essential but are highly regarded.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to systems and industry.
- Experience working in the Construction industry is desirable but not essential.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
- Capable of cultivating positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to confidently work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, financial software and reporting tools.
