The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Guest Service Agent to join our team at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart. As a Guest Experience Expert, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, processing guest check-ins and check-outs, and resolving guest calls and issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and meet guests' service needs, including asking questions to understand their preferences and acting on them whenever possible.
  • Maintain customer loyalty through innovative issue resolution and a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process room service orders, answer questions on menu selection, and record transactions in the point-of-sale system.
  • Upsell and promote our venues to guests, and maintain a high level of knowledge about our hotel's amenities and services.
  • Learn, think, and grow in your role, and continue to evolve as a Guest Experience Expert.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service experience as a Guest Service Agent.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to emotionally connect with guests and provide superior levels of service.
  • Thorough follow-up, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work on a 24-hour rotating roster, including public holidays and weekends.
  • Experience with OPERA property management system is a distinct advantage.
  • Must have full working rights for Australia.
