About the Role

SA Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Renal Laboratory Specialist to join our team at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced laboratory professional to work in our Renal Laboratory, performing tests associated with renal function, including 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and urine spun microscopy. The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritizing and organizing test bookings efficiently, preparing collection equipment, and educating patients and families on various procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all tests associated with the Renal Laboratory, including 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and urine spun microscopy.
  • Prioritize and organize test bookings efficiently to ensure timely results.
  • Prepare collection equipment and educate patients and families on procedures, such as 24-hour urine collections.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of technical and administrative aspects of clinical and research functions within the Renal Laboratory.
Requirements
  • A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline, such as Medical Science or Laboratory Technology.
  • Experience working in a medical laboratory setting, preferably in a pediatric or renal unit.
  • Ability to interact with patients and their families, providing education and support where necessary.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
