Medical Laboratory Technician Position in Renal Department

About the Role:
This position is available in the Paediatric Medicine team within the Renal Department at the Women's and Children's Hospital.
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing tests associated with the Renal Laboratory, including 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, 30-minute blood pressure studies, and 7-day home blood pressure monitoring.
You will also prioritize and organize test bookings efficiently, conduct and report on urine spun microscopy, prepare collection equipment, and educate patients/families on 24-hour urine collections.
Additionally, you will contribute to maintaining high standards in both technical and administrative aspects of clinical and research functions within the Renal Laboratory.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline
- Experience in a medical technical laboratory
- Experience working with children
- Experience and participation in Quality Assurance Programs
- Able to interact with patients and their families (for parts of the role)
- Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and work independently at times
