The University of Adelaide is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Dental Simulation Clinic Support Specialist. This part-time (0.4 or 0.6 FTE) continuing position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to delivering simulation classes for dental students.

About the Role

This position is responsible for assisting with coordinating and preparing the dental simulation clinic for use, providing support to academic staff and students to ensure effective, safe, and hygienic laboratory practices. You will work closely with the Senior Lab Teaching Support Officer to deliver simulation classes designed to help users acquire and develop skills and knowledge required for dental practice.

Your Responsibilities

  • Infection Control and Sterilization: Demonstrate knowledge and experience in infection control and sterilization of laboratory tools and dental apparatus, adhering to occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Administrative Tasks: Showcase your ability to manage competing demands in an organized manner.
  • Communication: Highlight your excellent communication skills and experience liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Emphasize your high-level problem-solving skills, making decisions towards achieving effective outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Quality Systems: Show understanding of quality systems and ability to contribute to continuous improvement processes supporting student learning and experience.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Hold a Diploma qualification or relevant work experience in a laboratory environment, or 5 years' Dental Assistant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.

We offer an attractive salary range of $71,460 - $78,326 per annum, plus a 17% employer contribution to superannuation.
