
Child Trauma Specialist

Our organization seeks a qualified professional to fill the position of Child Trauma Specialist. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing specialist psychological services and therapeutic support to children, young people, and their families who have experienced family violence trauma.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering developmentally appropriate interventions within family violence, trauma, and attachment frameworks in line with evidence-based practice and contemporary therapeutic models. They will conduct psychological assessments of children, young people, and their families using standardised assessment methods and develop and implement therapeutic programs and sessions for clients of the Children and Young Persons' Program (CHYPP) and Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS).
Key Responsibilities:- Assist children and young people to recover from the effects of family violence trauma by providing individualised therapeutic interventions.
- Conduct psychological assessments and provide expert advice to inform treatment planning and case management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to the development and implementation of programs for clients of CHYPP and FVCSS.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Working with Children Registration.
