Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader Position

About the Role

The Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader will play a vital role in supporting the mission of Townsville Catholic Education by leading the development of specific academic, cultural, outreach, sporting, or other defined programs offered to students and/or the College community. This position requires a dedicated and experienced professional who can interact with students, staff, and parents, as well as develop and implement effective processes and practices in keeping with the values and ethos of the College.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Leading the arts and cultural program in the College
  • Supervising teachers and teacher aides engaged in the program throughout the College
  • Induction of new teachers and teacher aides within the program (or supervision of induction where it is undertaken by another experienced teacher)
  • Pastoral care of staff within a designated area of responsibility
  • Contributing to the leadership of the College through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings
  • Regularly communicating with the Senior Leadership Team regarding issues of interest or concern
  • Other appropriate duties as required by the Principal and Senior Leadership Team

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A relevant teaching qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
