About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader to join our team at Good Shepherd Catholic College, Mount Isa. This is a full-time, permanent teaching role with a 3-year fixed-term appointment to the Middle Leader position.

The Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader will support the mission of the College through leadership of specific academic, cultural, outreach, sporting or other defined programs offered to students and/or the College community.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of contemporary pedagogy and the ability to differentiate and provide for a diverse range of abilities. They will also have a willingness to change and develop instructional strategies to increase student growth and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the arts and cultural program in the College
  • Supervising teachers and teacher aides engaged in the program throughout the College
  • Induction of new teachers and teacher aides within the program (or supervision of induction where it is undertaken by another experienced teacher)
  • Pastoral care of staff within a designated area of responsibility
  • Contributing to the leadership of the College through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings
  • Regularly communicating with the Senior Leadership Team regarding issues of interest or concern.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
