About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engagement Officer to join our team in Canberra. As an Engagement Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting Assistant Directors in engaging with stakeholders to achieve maximum benefits for Indigenous Australians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to remote localities to engage with stakeholders and deliver voter education sessions and enrolment activities.
  • Liaise with partners to arrange meetings at the community level to understand local challenges to electoral participation.
  • Develop and manage key internal and external relationships to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes, and facilitate cooperation.
  • Provide high-quality advice on business processes and make decisions using professional judgement.
  • Contribute to evaluation activities and support continual improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages for various audiences.
  • Organised and able to contribute to activities with attention to detail and delivering results.
  • Ability to identify problems and work to resolve them.
  • Strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results.
  • Understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
