About the Role

We are seeking an Indigenous Identified Cultural Engagement Officer to join our team at Onpoint 365. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting Indigenous culture and facilitating community engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Indigenous communities to develop cultural programs and initiatives that promote cultural preservation and celebration.
  • Facilitate cultural awareness training and workshops for government staff and stakeholders to promote understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and initiatives that promote Indigenous cultural preservation and celebration.
  • Engage with Indigenous Elders and community leaders to ensure their voices are heard and respected.
  • Provide advice and guidance on Indigenous cultural protocols and practices to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • A deep understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture and traditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Indigenous communities.
  • Knowledge of government policies and programs related to Indigenous affairs.
  • A commitment to reconciliation and promoting Indigenous voices and perspectives.
  • Experience in community engagement or cultural development roles preferred.
