Job Description

Apg Workforce is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our manufacturing team operating on a 24/7 schedule. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing environment and be trade qualified.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance schedules for all equipment and machinery, ensuring alignment with production requirements and maintenance priorities.
    • Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule planned maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to schedule work orders, track maintenance activities, and maintain accurate records of equipment history and maintenance performance.
  • Spare Parts Management:
    • Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts and consumables required for maintenance activities.
    • Identify critical spare parts and establish reorder levels to prevent stockouts and minimize downtime due to parts availability issues.
  • Equipment Reliability and Performance:
    • Analyze equipment performance data, including downtime records, breakdown frequencies, and maintenance costs, to identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
    • Work closely with reliability engineers and maintenance technicians to implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies and optimize preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections of equipment to identify safety hazards, maintenance deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and overall operational performance.
    • Actively contribute to the development and optimization of maintenance processes, procedures, and standards to drive operational excellence.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment, preferably with 24/7 operations.
    • Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles, including preventive maintenance strategies, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and condition-based maintenance (CBM).
    • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, high-demand environment.
    • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles.
    • Certification in maintenance planning or related field (e.g., Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional - CMRP) preferred.
    • Experience in manufacturing industry or poultry experience highly regarded.
