Lived Experience Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lived Experience Worker to join our Youth Transitions portfolio. As a Lived Experience Worker, you will play a vital role in shaping the programs and services we deliver to support young people leaving care.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to key decisions about Uniting's services for young people leaving care, ensuring their needs are at the heart of everything we do.
- Champion youth voices and ensure their ideas are woven into the fabric of our programs.
- Co-create meaningful initiatives with young people, using your unique perspective to make sure they truly support their needs.
- Take part in our Child Rights and Participation Community of Practice, helping us develop and improve how we work.
- Be an advocate and share your experiences to drive change in the services delivered to young people after they leave care.
- Learn and grow by visiting Uniting sites and engaging with staff to understand the broader work we do within Youth Transitions.
- Bring your voice to recruitment, helping select staff for Youth Transitions programs who understand and respect the experiences of young people in care.
- Contribute to exciting projects, such as developing child/youth participation frameworks and feedback tools.
- Discover new possibilities and explore opportunities that align with your passions and where your lived experience can make a difference.
- Keep learning and work closely with your manager to build your skills and knowledge as you grow in your role.
- You will need a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check for this role. We will support you through the process of obtaining these checks.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for work.
