Director, X-ray Facility Lead

The UNSW Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the X-ray Facility as a Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the facility's operations, leading a team of research scientists and technical staff, and collaborating with the Executive Director to align X-ray science strategies with UNSW's research goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the X-ray Facility's operations, including planning, budgeting, and resource management
- Manage a team of research scientists and technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality research outcomes
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement X-ray science strategies that align with UNSW's research goals
- Engage in independent and collaborative research on X-ray methods, publishing research findings in top-tier journals
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, stakeholders, and industry partners to promote the X-ray Facility's capabilities and services
- PhD in a relevant field, such as Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics
- Proven track record of leading research teams and managing complex projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills, with experience in managing large research budgets
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality research outcomes
