The Category Manager plays a pivotal role in driving category growth through ownership of reporting, shelf management, and execution tracking.

This includes leading planogram development, conducting space-to-sales analysis, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize ranging and merchandising.

The Opportunity

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Demand Planning, the Category Manager drives the implementation of agreed category initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, in full, and to a high standard across key customers and channels.

They engage with retail partners and use available data to monitor category performance and execution in market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customer, marketing and RGM teams to support delivery of joint business plans for relevant categories
  • Support execution through customer engagement and presentations
  • Develop quarterly and total category reviews and performance reports
  • Maintain and update category dashboards, scorecards, and performance trackers using sales data and reports
  • Analyze sales trends, promotional effectiveness, and range performance to identify growth opportunities or risks
  • Present regular performance updates to internal teams and escalate issues proactively
  • Develop preferred shelf plans for categories by leveraging shopper research and analytics; where required, direct 3rd party space management suppliers to develop customer-specific planograms
  • Build data-driven range, space, and merchandising recommendations
