
Category Growth Strategist

A strategic merchandiser is required to lead category growth and commercial performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in driving sales and margin growth through smart category strategies, strong analytical skills, and excellent negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with company growth targets
- Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity to uncover opportunities and mitigate risks
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms, speed to market, promotional support and trade spend
- Partner with planning and supply teams to optimise inventory levels and avoid out-of-stocks
- Collaborate with marketing to create compelling category campaigns and in-store experiences
- Monitor category performance and take proactive action to hit sales, margin, and growth targets
- Ensure consistent execution across online and in-store merchandising, including planograms and product placement
- Use insights from customer and market data to continually refine and optimise the category
- 5+ years' experience in merchandising, category management, or retail buying
- A track record of driving sales and margin growth through smart category strategies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable plans
- Excellent negotiation skills and proven success managing supplier relationships
- Experience working across multiple channels including digital, retail, and marketing partnerships
- The confidence to make data-led decisions and the adaptability to pivot when needed
