Company Overview:

Our client, a leading international financial institution, is seeking an experienced Fund Accounting Specialist to join their fund administration department in Sydney. This role will involve review and oversight of the fund administration process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of client reports.

About the Role:

The Fund Accounting Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and verifying the work of junior accountants, both in-office and abroad. They will have direct client contact, ensuring that client reports are delivered in-line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Key responsibilities include generating unit pricing reports, accounting reports, tax reports, and resolving client and interdepartmental issues.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years' experience in senior roles within the fund accounting function, including proficiency in unit pricing, tax reporting, valuation and accounting, distributions or taxable income calculations, and tax returns.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, and CA/CPA qualifications highly desirable.
  • Technical accounting ability and knowledge of the broader functions of the client service suite, including fund accounting, reporting, operational risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience with unit pricing and fund accounting systems, such as Hi-Portfolio, PControl, or Dimension.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate and resolve queries with fellow departments and clients.

Remuneration:

A competitive salary package, circa $95k-$115k base plus superannuation, with a discretionary bonus.
