Community Mental Health Specialist

This is a full-time position in a non-hospital-based role that offers a unique opportunity to apply clinical expertise in a flexible, community-based setting.

As a Community Mental Health Specialist, you will provide clinical oversight, mental health assessments, and collaborative care planning for young people aged 12–25 with mental health concerns.

About the Opportunity

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing psychiatric and general medical assessment for young people aged 12–25.
  • Supporting treatment planning, medication management, and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborating closely with psychologists, care coordinators, and social workers.
  • Contributing to clinical reviews, case conferences, and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and supporting service evaluation initiatives.
About You
  • Hold a MBBS or equivalent degree and be registered with AHPRA as a medical practitioner.
  • Have experience or interest in youth mental health, general practice, or early intervention.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, person-centred approach to clinical care.
  • Be able to work independently in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Exhibit an interest in continuity of care and long-term outcomes over acute presentations.
