Residential Care Worker Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our team. As a Residential Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing direct care and supervision to young people in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised care plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each young person
  • Assist with daily activities, support their understanding of self-care, education, and recreational activities
  • Promote a safe and positive living environment that fosters emotional growth and well-being
  • Build trusting relationships with young people, offering emotional support and guidance
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check or being willing and eligible to obtain prior to commencement
  • Available to work across a full shift pattern (mornings, evenings and sleepovers)
  • Valid Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle
  • Attained or working towards a relevant Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Certificate IV (Community Services, Youth/Social Work, etc.)
  • Experience working with young people/children
  • Experience working in other support work related fields, i.e. disability, mental health, aged care, and childcare
