About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to join our team as the Vice President of Research and Innovation at SRA International. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization and driving innovation in the field of research and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic vision and leadership for our research and development efforts, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of research programs, including the identification of research priorities, the development of research proposals, and the management of research budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and to develop and implement strategies for driving innovation in our organization.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to research and development, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to research staff, including the development of research plans, the identification of research opportunities, and the management of research projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including research institutions, industry partners, and government agencies, to identify opportunities for collaboration and to advance our research agenda.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of research and development, including emerging trends, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as a Ph.D. in a scientific or technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a research leadership role, with a proven track record of success in leading research teams and developing and implementing research strategies.
  • Strong understanding of research principles and methods, including the design and implementation of research studies, the analysis and interpretation of research data, and the dissemination of research findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and to develop and implement business plans.
