About the Role

Sig Susquehanna is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operational Desk Assistant to join our team. As an Operational Desk Assistant, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day running of our trading desks, ensuring the smooth execution of trades and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and reconcile trade, transaction, and position data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and submit creation and redemption instructions for proprietary trading.
  • Assist with maintaining position, profit and loss, and information exchange.
  • Maintain and manage operational processes to ensure exchange compliance.
  • Use algorithmic trading tools under instruction from traders.
  • Update and manage all exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Act as liaison between desk traders and other dealers, traders, or brokers and all internal departments.
  • Help run appropriate desk projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience working in the financial markets arena.
  • Operational knowledge of Asian financial markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of ETF life cycle, handling trade flow through to settlement.
  • Thorough knowledge of equity and specifically ETF products.
  • Working knowledge of corporate action, including booking and PnL impact.
  • Proficient in Bloomberg and Excel.
  • Ability to build strong and positive relationships both internally and with broker contacts.
  • Ability to promote new ideas and solutions.
  • Confidence to escalate issues and be proactive to drive changes.
  • Works well with an established team and can build strong relationships with team members.
  • Maintaining strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping as well as fostering efficiency and accuracy to complete tasks and follow process.
  • Ability to prioritize based on materiality and risk considerations.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • Analytical mindset when tackling issues.
  • Detail-oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-moving, highly intellectual environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and resourceful in solving problems.
  • Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanor.
  • Working knowledge of VBA, Python, or SQL would be helpful.
