Leadership Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our NSW Planning team in Wollongong or Sydney offices. The successful candidate will provide leadership, mentoring, and expert advice to contribute to business objectives.

The role involves leading a team of Urban Planners, ensuring correct staffing levels, resourcing projects, and maintaining high engagement with team members. You will also work independently as a Principal planner on your own projects, contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams.

Successful candidates will be developed professionally and personally, with opportunities for career growth in a successful consultancy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of Urban Planners and ensuring correct staffing levels and resourcing of projects.
  • Providing high-level proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing, and comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
  • Acting as project manager with planning, programming, and coordination of projects to ensure project outputs meet agreed goals.
  • Developing project plans and strategies for completion of major projects, including identification of resource requirements.
  • Managing preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
  • Undertaking technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure it meets client expectations.
  • Leading and assisting with tender documentation preparation.
  • Fostering client relationships and identifying business opportunities.
  • Growing, developing, and mentoring junior staff.
