
Expert Urban Planning Advisor

We are seeking a Principal Planner to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will contribute to our business goals by providing professional planning and resource management advice in both statutory and strategic planning.
As a Principal Planner, you will have the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams and work independently on your own projects. Our team works on a range of land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales.
The successful candidate will be developed professionally and personally, with opportunities for career growth and advancement. Day-to-day tasks may include:
- Demonstrating proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
- Acting as project manager, coordinating projects to ensure outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
- Developing project plans and strategies for completing major projects, including identifying business resource requirements.
- Managing or assisting with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions.
- Undertaking technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team.
- Leading and assisting with the preparation of tender documentation.
- Fostering client relationships and identifying business opportunities.
- Growing, developing, and mentoring junior staff.
To be successful, you'll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
- Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
- Self-motivation and self-direction.
- An interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
- Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
