Key Role Overview

The NSW Planning team is seeking a new Team Leader to contribute to the company's business goals by providing leadership and mentoring the planning team.

This role offers opportunities to work on multi-disciplinary project teams and independently as a Principal planner on your own projects. Our team works on various land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team of Urban Planners, ensuring correct staffing levels and resourcing of projects.
  • Providing professional planning advice in both statutory and strategic planning.
  • Contributing to the planning process, including research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Developing project plans and strategies for major projects, including identifying business resource requirements.
  • Managing or assisting with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions.
  • Undertaking technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a consultancy environment or similar.
  • Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
