Urban Planning Leadership OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urban Planning Leader to join our team. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for leading a team of urban planners, ensuring correct staffing levels and resourcing of projects, maintaining a high level of engagement with team members, and working with partner team leads across other disciplines to achieve project outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation, as well as proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and self-directed individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality results and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of urban planners and ensure correct staffing levels and resourcing of projects.
- Maintain a high level of engagement with team members and work with partner team leads to achieve project outcomes.
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
- Contribute to the development of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
- Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a consultancy environment or similar.
- Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
- Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
- Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
- Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
