Senior Urban Planning Role

About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Urban Planner to join our established NSW planning team in Wollongong or Sydney offices. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to our business goals by providing professional urban planning advice and resource management expertise.

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring that project outputs meet or exceed agreed objectives.
  • Develop and implement project plans, strategies, and business cases for major projects, including identification of business resource requirements.
  • Manage the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
  • Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Foster strong client relationships and identify business opportunities.
  • Grow, develop, and mentor junior staff.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with a passion for solving problems and producing innovative solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
  • Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.

Requirements:
