About the Role

The Catholic Education Office is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Officer to join our Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting schools to improve student learning outcomes, particularly in the area of numeracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with schools to develop and implement effective numeracy programs
  • Provide professional learning opportunities for teachers to improve their pedagogy and instructional practices
  • Support schools to develop quality programs linked to new curriculum
  • Assist teachers with resources, materials, and tools to support classroom instruction and planning
  • Interpret and respond to data to improve student learning outcomes
Essential Selection Criteria
  • Ability to give witness to the faith and contribute to the Catholic life and culture of the school community
  • Capacity to build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data
  • Ability to build capacity through professional development and supporting school staff
  • Capacity to act strategically to support Curriculum Leaders and drive school improvement initiatives
  • Ability to demonstrate innovation in an educational facility
Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-graduate study in a relevant discipline
  • Accreditation in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong policy
  • Current driver's license
Working with Children Clearance

This role requires a Working with Children Clearance to be completed prior to commencement.
