About the Role

The Catholic Education Office is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Officer to join our Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing Team. As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders to improve numeracy outcomes and implement curriculum initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead professional learning opportunities to build the capability of school staff in numeracy and curriculum implementation.
  • Support teachers in improving pedagogy and leading to improved learning outcomes.
  • Assist schools in developing quality programs linked to new curriculum.
  • Provide resources, materials, and tools to support classroom instruction and planning.
  • Interpret and respond to data to improve student learning outcomes.
Essential Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills and the ability to build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth.
  • Build capacity through professional development and supporting school staff with access to effective continual professional learning opportunities.
  • Act strategically to support Curriculum Leaders in driving school improvement initiatives aligned to the systems Strategic Direction.
  • Demonstrate innovation in an educational facility.
General Capabilities
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.
Qualifications
  • Post-graduate study in a relevant discipline.
  • Accreditation in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong policy (or a commitment to acquiring within a 5 year period).
  • Current drivers licence.
