About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Mackay. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological services to individuals and groups, including children, young people, and adults.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide diagnoses for clients above ten years of age;
  2. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans using a range of psychotherapeutic methods, including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and interpersonal therapy;
  3. Provide psychological services to support individuals and groups, including children, young people, and adults;
  4. Administer tests and formulate treatment plans for clients;
  5. Design and evaluate treatment plans and assist in the implementation of evidence-based psychological interventions;
  6. Consult and liaise regularly with families, carers, and significant others where required;
  7. Write assessments and reports in a timely manner;
  8. Consult with the senior psychologist regarding cases and their most appropriate treatment plan;
  9. Follow the ethical guidelines as set out for psychologists in Australia and conduct yourself in such a manner that all your actions are ethical, professional, and above reproach;
  10. Conduct case management and other administrative tasks as needed;
  11. Create and maintain accurate client records as per AHPRA's guidelines and keep this up to date at all times;
  12. Provide feedback to doctors as required by Medicare for clients referred with a mental health care plan.
Requirements
  1. Registered as a psychologist with AHPRA;
  2. Overseas applicants are considered for the role. Ideally, you will have a clinical master's or doctorate degree completed a skills assessment in terms of AHPRA requirements, and need only a three-month provisional period. You would also be willing to write the National Psychology Examination;
  3. A current Working With Children Check (WWCC), or the willingness to obtain;
  4. Experience in dealing with various mental health concerns;
  5. Excellent verbal and written skills;
  6. Passion, caring, and love to work in a team and also working independently with confidence.
