Company Overview
Agricultural Appointments is a leading entity engaged in comprehensive sugar production processes, encompassing the cultivation, milling, and marketing of sugar. Our operations are primarily situated in Central Queensland, where we manage an extensive farming area of 1800 hectares dedicated to sugarcane cultivation. As we transition into a new phase of leadership due to retirement, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated Farm Manager.

Position Overview
The Farm Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and productivity of our agricultural operations. This hands-on position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from strategic planning and budgeting to the practical execution of farming activities, including the assessment of harvest outcomes. The Farm Manager will report directly to the General Manager of Farms.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee, guide, and mentor farm staff (3 full-time employees plus contractors) while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations. Employ suitable techniques and equipment, managing intricate tasks that require both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. Optimize the irrigation schedule to enhance water usage efficiency and overall production. Develop, coordinate, and implement pest and disease control strategies, as well as manage fertilization processes. Candidate Requirements
Proven knowledge and experience in agriculture and farm management. Strong people management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively. Preference for candidates with experience in irrigation management. Experience in sugarcane cultivation is advantageous but not mandatory. Relevant qualifications, including a current driver's license, first aid certification, and HR truck license, are preferred. Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive remuneration package designed to attract the ideal candidate for this essential role, which includes salary, superannuation, vehicle, computer, and mobile phone. Additionally, a four-bedroom residence on the farm will be provided rent-free for the initial year, allowing the successful candidate to determine their preferred living arrangements. A discretionary bonus will be available based on company performance.
