Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Peer Support Worker with headspace in Katherine, providing support to young people and families in collaboration with their treating team.


Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a salary of $74,048.70 + Super, plus up to $7,000 relocation assistance through NT PHN. We also offer 5 weeks annual leave, access to Education Grants through NT PHN, and more.


Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize your lived experience to provide support to young people and families, working collaboratively with their treating team.
  • Support young people to reach their recovery goals through individual sessions, joint sessions, outreach engagements, group activities and linking with internal and external services.
  • Provide ongoing opportunities for young people to de-brief and provide feedback about their treatment journey with headspace.
  • Support young people to become self-advocates, requesting services from their treating team to aid their recovery.

Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health or relevant field.
  • Experience accessing mental health support as a young person.
  • Ability to engage, support and work collaboratively with young people.
  • Understanding of the mental health system in the Northern Territory.
