Administrative Support Coordinator for Parliament Secretariat

The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking a skilled and experienced Office Manager to provide administrative support to our secretariat team.
We estimate the salary for this role to be around $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative assistance and office support to a small team, including processing committee and inquiry documents, maintaining records, arranging travel and bookings, and collecting statistical information. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
The Office Manager will also be expected to provide administrative support across the Committee Office as required, which may involve occasional domestic travel to support the Committee.
Leadership at all levels is encouraged within the department, and we expect all staff to demonstrate leadership in their professional experience.
Security clearances may be required for designated committees.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
