**About the Department of the House of Representatives

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, plus 15.4% superannuation

About the Role

The Researcher works within our small secretariat team, providing research, report writing and administrative support to one or more parliamentary committees. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of Australia's democracy, supporting members of parliament and their committees in their important work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and provide reports on topics relevant to parliamentary committees
  • Develop and maintain databases and other information systems to support committee activities
  • Assist with the preparation of committee hearings, including drafting questions and managing witness submissions
  • Provide general administrative support to committee staff

Requirements

  • Proven research skills and experience in preparing reports and other written materials
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines
