Job Title: Workplace Support Officer

This is a fixed-term part-time position available at the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health. We are seeking a skilled and empathetic individual to provide vital support to employees with lived experience of intellectual disability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for offering guidance, mentoring, and assistance to help employees achieve their work goals and contribute effectively to their teams.

As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in empowering healthcare and disability professionals to address the healthcare needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Provide personalized support and guidance to employees with lived experience of intellectual disability.">
  • Mentor and assist employees in achieving their work goals and contributing effectively to their teams.">
  • Develop and maintain clear professional boundaries while building respectful and supportive relationships with employees.">
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure inclusive teamwork and build trusting relationships with all members.">

Requirements:

">
  • Relevant qualification with subsequent relevant experience in educating or supporting people with lived experience of intellectual disability.">
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including experience in providing mentoring to people with emotional and support needs.">
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain clear professional boundaries while building respectful and supportive relationships with people with lived experience.">
  • Commitment to inclusive teamwork and the ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with all members of the research team.">
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with people who experience communication impairment and have emotional support needs.">
  • Ability to make sound judgments and work both independently and as part of a team.">
  • Advanced time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.">
  • Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office Applications.">
