Workplace Injury Mitigation Specialist

This role focuses on minimizing workplace injuries across the organization through effective injury rehabilitation processes.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and administering workers compensation insurance premiums, including preparing submissions to ensure renewal processes are followed.
  • They will manage and coordinate injury management across the organization, providing professional advice to relevant managers and return-to-work coordinators.
  • Liaison with insurers in different states and territories is also a key responsibility, ensuring effective management of claims and injuries.
  • Additionally, they will stay up-to-date with relevant workers compensation legal frameworks across all Australian states and territories.
  • Assisting with investigations into workplace injuries to identify root causes and prevent future incidents is also an important aspect of this role.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as safety, social science, or occupational physio is essential.
  • Minimum 5 years of injury management experience with significant operational exposure to the industrial sector is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS and workers compensation legislation across all Australian states and territories is crucial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders are necessary.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel proficiency, are also required.
