Cyber Risk Underwriting Opportunity


We're looking for a skilled Cyber Risk Underwriter to join our team at AXA XL.


About the Role


As a Cyber Risk Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting complex cyber risks, reviewing submissions, and advising clients on risk management matters.


Key Responsibilities



  • Reviewing complex cyber risk submissions, including applications and policy wordings
  • Calculating risk premiums, considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, and underwriting costs
  • Advising and assisting clients on insurance and risk management matters
  • Effective relationship management to initiate opportunities for cross-selling and account retention
  • Coordinating with internal teams to determine appropriate reinsurance for risk placements
  • Monitoring financial exposure and premium income within set limits
  • Maintaining awareness of all claims advised and supporting settlement

Requirements


We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and equivalent experience in the cyber class of business.


The ideal candidate will have:



  • Ability to exercise discretion and use judgment to identify and solve problems
  • Marketing skills, including planning for sales and business development
  • Negotiation and sales skills, including planning, structuring, and conducting negotiations
  • Analytical skills, including visualizing, gathering information, and solving complex problems
  • Interpersonal savvy, including building relationships with brokers, clients, and colleagues
  • Strategy and planning skills, including making underwriting decisions to fulfill business strategic plans
  • Industry knowledge, including understanding of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios
