Family and Relationship Services Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced practitioner to assist in the provision of high-quality intake, screening, and referral services within the counselling framework of our organisation's Family and Relationship Services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support and work with diverse families with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing of incoming client referrals - including referrals from key partners and stakeholders and assessing eligibility and suitability.
  • Completion of client intake, initial needs assessment as well as risk assessment/s and safety planning where required.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution (including eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, PACFA or ACA). They will also have a well-developed understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and Family Law Act, as well as the issues and the impacts on families engaged in these systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution (including eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, PACFA or ACA).
  • Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.
  • Highly effective communication with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to advocate for our clients' needs with other statutory organisations/ departments.
