About You

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Executive Sous Chef. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • At least 3 years' experience in a high-end restaurant, catering business, or 5-star hotel
  • A valid driver's license (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong communication and planning skills
Job Summary

As our Executive Sous Chef, you will be second in command and responsible for leading our kitchen team. You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences and ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing menu items to the highest standards
  • Maintaining food safety compliance
  • Overseeing the production kitchen and off-site events
  • Training and managing kitchen team members
  • Maintaining company software for recipes, costings, and purchasing

  • Adequate professional experience in a high-quality restaurant
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for health and safety, environmental health, and food safety
  • Strong client relationship and people management skills
  • A sound understanding of current trends and consumer requirements
  • Confident communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Ability to generate ideas for business improvement
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and resourcefulness
